Lana joined GMD in April 2022. Prior to her role with GMD, she held policy planner and consenting planner roles at Hamilton City Council. During her time as a consents planner, she processed a number of resource consents for Hamilton with a specific interest in developments in the Central City. As part of her policy work, Lana spent time interpreting new resource management legislation in a Hamilton context. Lana also has experience as a Planning Advisor at Waka Kotahi.

Lana enjoys thinking strategically and attempting to solve the big planning questions. Her background in consenting gives her a down-to-earth and outcomes focused approach to complex problems.

Prior to her professional life, Lana studied at the University of Waikato, from where she holds a Bachelor of Environmental Planning. She enjoys returning to her old stomping ground and presenting guest lectures to planning students. She is passionate about helping emerging planners find their spot in the planning world and helping them navigate work life.

When not at work, Lana is a bit of a homebody and enjoys reading, crocheting, and going to the gym.
